Details and weather update before our first night!

Image
Hi all, Tomorrow, Monday May 1st, is the first night of our 2023 season! Our first evening is a practice session with all age groups starting at 6:00. There will be areas for players to practice batting, pitching, and fielding, which will help us to start organizing teams. We'll also be collecting registration forms and payments for those bringing them in - look for anybody wearing the yellow Mastodons jersey to help you out. We'll also be looking to meet with all those who have offered to help with coaching, and of course anyone who's willing to help out but hasn't told us about it yet, talk to us tomorrow night! Now, it has been a pretty wet weekend, so we'll be keeping an eye on the weather tomorrow evening. Our rule of thumb is always that if you don't hear anything, games and practices are on as scheduled. We will always post an update here, on our Facebook page , and through our mailing list as soon as we have a cancellation decision should that come up...

Pre-season update ahead of May 1st

Here's an update and confirmation of times ahead of next week: on Monday, May 1st, all ages and divisions will meet at the diamonds at 6:00. There will be stations set up around the facility for players to rotate around and practice hitting, catching, throwing, pitching, and fielding. We'll begin splitting off into different age divisions, and then teams, over the course of the first couple of weeks, with all of that info to be posted soon. We'll have a full season schedule with the days of special events coming soon as well. Remember that we will provide bats and helmets, though players are welcome to bring to their own if they wish. They must bring their own glove. More updates to come before May 1st.

Registration update

Hello everyone, Sure, it snowed today - but we're less than two weeks away from the start of softball! Thanks to all who have sent in their registrations, and a huge thanks to those who have signed up to assist with coaching! With the numbers we are seeing, especially in T-Ball, we want to give everyone a heads-up that while everyone who has submitted a registration or contacted us about it definitely has a spot, we'll have to consider putting a cap on new registrations based on how many coaches we have. In other words: more coaches = more teams = more players! If you're interested in helping out, remember that we'll provide you with advice, plans, and tools for coaching if you're new to it. Also, a reminder that Wainfleet Softball will be at the Community Open House and Free Skate this Thursday from 5:00 until 6:00 (but the free skate will go until 8:00!), so take the time to say hello, find out more about our league, or drop off a registration.
